Grab TC From Pro Camcorders & Comsumer VCRs!
Logging timecode into a computer while shooting has been possible for awhile,
but never especially easy. Not having the right connection available
on the camcorder can make it impossible. After the shoot, logging
usually meant connecting to an expensive (often rented) professional VTR
with an RS-422 port, because that's where the software needed to read the
TC. Things have changed.
You can now easily connect your computer to any timecode source! Our
new Easy Readers 1.5 & 2 not only translate longitudinal timecode (LTC)
into compuer data (in Sony VTR protocol), one of them actually translates
the LTC into Vertical Interval Timecode (VITC) and embeds it in the picture--so
that you can read it back latter from your consumer 8mm or VHS VCRs! Thats
right, timecode read back from VHS--without bleeding into your audio!
Both Easy Readers are battery powered, so you can log in the field while
you shoot, during film-to-tape transfers, on the plane home, or better
yet, sitting in your easy chair!
Works With Existing Software!
Both Easy Readers look very much like Sony VTRs to computer logging programs,
and are generally compatible with those that read timecode from VTR's RS-422
port. The compatible list includes Avid Technology's MediaLog (Mac &
Windows), Pipeline Digital's Autolog (Mac), Editing Machine Corporation's
EMCLOG (Mac, DOS & Windows), and others. Email for compatibility
information.
